Hayden is 5!

Yesterday was Hayden's birthday. We had a Star Wars party and invited lots of friends to come. There was a pinata, we played a game, swam, and had cake & ice cream. Hayden was excited about getting his presents and having his friends there to celebrate him turning 5.  After we got home Hayden told his Dad... "Dad I wish I was a girl and didn't have to do anything. Since I am a boy I will have to go to work everyday just like you!", he then said "I am going to live with you forever Daddy!" Hayden says the funniest things and he's such a cute boy.

We gave all the kids glow in the dark light sabers. Our kids love playing with them.

Hayden told Hailey this morning when she first walked out of her room "Hailey you have to tell me Happy Birthday since it's My Birthday and I am 5".

4th of July!

Boy the 4th was a busy day. Dan started off early at 6 am putting up flags around town with the Scouts. When Dan was done we had breakfast at the city park, and went to the Parade. The kids scored with a lot of candy; it is always a bonus to know the people in the parade because they spoil the kids with lots of candy. After the parade there were games at the park. The kids got money for competing in the the kid races. Dan competed in a wheel barrel race with a friend, where I heard they were not one of the first ones to finish :), as I was gone taking Harrison for a potty break. A friend of mine and I competed in the 3 legged race... we came in 3rd place, I was pretty happy about that. After the races there was a watermelon bust, we got to eat as much watermelon as we wanted, it was nice because it was so hot & sunny outside. The firemen had a fire hose money scramble. The fire truck sprayed water into the air and the firemen got their hoses and sprayed the kids while they tried to pick up money from the ground. They had different age groups so it wasn't too crazy. Daniel and Harrison paired together and Hudson and I paired together for their age group. We got soaked, Harrison ended up crying and Hudson couldn't figure out what in the world was going on and why he was getting sprayed with water.
Hayden also ended up crying but made got some money before quitting. Hailey was a champ. She made the most money of all. After the water fun we went to the city pool and swam around for a bit. At 5 we went to a friends home and had a barbeque with a few other families. We had a good time hanging out and playing games with everyone. At 9pm we went to see the fireworks at the park. I was pretty impressed with the fireworks for being such a small town.  There were a lot of people there to watch and it was fun to visit with everyone. Sorry no pictures... I will have to do better next year.

Kershaw Ryan

We hang out a lot and Kershaw Ryan State Park. They have this little spring pool that is the right size for toddlers to swim in. The kids and I come here a lot to spend time in the sun and cool off in the hot weather. It's a lot of fun.
Daddy & Hudson hanging out.
Hudson just loves to play in the water with the other kids.

Young Women Camp

I spent the day with the YW President getting ready for Young Women Camp on Monday (July 16th). When I got home it was just Hudson and I and it was very quiet. Tuesday morning we woke up early and drove to Camp Kolob in Utah. It was very pretty and cool weather for the summer time so it was nice. Hudson was pretty mellow during camp and did very well. It was nice to have a lot of other girls and leaders to help take care of them. I really enjoyed being at camp and it was fun getting to know the other girls and leaders there. It was a Stake Camp and we had other wards from areas around us... Rachel, Alamo, Pioche and Panaca. It was nice to be spiritually fed and to have some fun at the same time.
Hudson was always smiling and did so well camping out with Mommy.

Daniel's 30th Birthday

For Daniel's 30th birthday we spent the weekend in St. George & Las Vegas. We stayed at Lara's house Friday night and spent time with the Moody family, my cousin was married so there was a lot of family in town. We then left for Las Vegas on Saturday. We met with some friends at the mall and took our kids to stay at The Mirage. We went to the dolphin habitat and also saw some Lions and Tigers. We then ate at the buffet and swam until the pool closed. On Sunday (Father's Day and Daniel's birthday) Dan had to fly to Columbia, South Carolina to the National Advocacy Center for a prosecutors boot camp in the morning... not a very nice present for the big day, but we tried to celebrate it the best we could over the weekend. I wasn't very happy that Dan had to be gone on his birthday and Father's Day. I dropped him off at the airport and we said good bye. Then my kids and I drove with my Sister's family in their motor home to my house. We watched a few movies and had dinner, it was fun to spend time with them. Monday morning my sister gratefully took my kids, all except Hudson of course, to my Mom's house in Spanish Fork so that she could watch them while I went to Young Women Camp. Thank you Mom for taking care of them!!! It was sad having them go and it was so quiet in my house that day, it just wasn't the same.
